An institution for media systems and standards.
Unincorporated Media is an independent institution for the systems and standards that an open, resilient media environment depends on — identity, archive, distribution, discovery, governance, and the research that informs them.
We are not a publisher. We do not commission, syndicate, or endorse editorial work. Our position is structural. The layer beneath modern media should be open by default, governed transparently, and operable on equal terms by independent publishers, research bodies, and the largest institutions.
A free press requires infrastructure it does not have to rent from its adversaries. The same is true of the systems beneath it. That is the work.
